Soul-life includes relying on natural strength and gifting; pride; human wisdom; and emotional sensations.
Spiritual Christians seek the experience of being one with God. Soulish ones desire explanations and understanding in their mind.
Spirit life possesses God’s nature. Soul life possesses self-nature. Unless we permit the spirit to have control and take the reins, our spirit life will be underdeveloped.
Will we please God in our own soul power? Or rely 100% on the Spirit? We must be strengthened with power in our spirit so that we may follow the dictates of our new nature.
When God says our old man was crucified, we reckon ourselves dead. When He says we are alive, we reckon ourselves as resurrected. Many fail in this area because of feelings.
What is lacking today is not a better living but a better dying. We need to die a good death—a thorough death. If we die correctly, we shall live correctly.
The finished work of the cross has been accomplished perfectly. As a process within the believer, the Holy Spirit will apply the principle of the cross continuously.
The flesh opposes the spirit not just in sinning, but even in serving and pleasing Him. It opposes the Holy Spirit by leaning upon its own strength and relying on God’s grace.
