What I Am Learning During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Thursday, April 2, 2020

As I mentioned in my last article, The Turbulent Decade Ahead, I will be writing about being ready for the Lord, the coming pressures of the end times, and His glorious return.

In this article and the next, I want to share eight things that I am learning that can also help you get ready for the decade we have just entered.

1. This decade will be turbulent.

Recently, I sensed the Lord saying to me that we have entered a new normal. Life as we have known it will never be the same.

Multiple forces, both spiritual and natural, are at work in the earth. The globalist elite, who are attempting to establish a worldwide antichrist system, are using this current COVID-19 pandemic to further their agenda.

Though this current pandemic will likely pass, the globalists are using this event to advance their policies. Digital currency, mandatory vaccinations in order to travel, the restriction of large public gatherings, a digital id, and many other agendas will become mandated laws in America and around the world.

Over the next ten years, turbulent events crash upon us in wave after wave. With each event, the globalists will use the fear and turmoil created to progressively take away our freedoms. Through chaos they will take control.

2. This decade can be the church’s finest hour.

In the midst of the turmoil, the Lord is inviting His church to arise to the challenge.

Even now, God is tearing down old wineskins of church structure. He is stripping the church of its old ways, even things that once contained life. God is removing old wineskins so that He can start fresh with a church prepared for the coming days.

The decade ahead is intended to be the church’s finest hour; however, this is not automatic. Rather, it is an invitation for the church to make herself ready—to arise with increased stature and authority by the power of Christ within.

Though we might not fully understand the way the Lord is working now or how He will move in the future, now is the time to cooperate with the work of the Holy Spirit.

This transition will not be easy or comfortable. It will require humility and obedience as the Lord challenges us to make changes in our personal lives and in how we view and do church.

I want to encourage you to get started now.

This is one of the reasons why we are starting our Forerunner School in September. I encourage you to check out our website for more information.

3. God is using the current pandemic for His purposes.

Though the enemy is using this crisis to advance an antichrist agenda, God is using this pandemic to wake up the church. He is inviting us to get ready for what is coming.

In a way, this crisis is a test run to show the church where we are and how ill-prepared we really are. While the American lifestyle is being disrupted, God is using these disruptions to prepare His people for the much more intense days that lie ahead. He is waking up His church globally in ways we have not seen before.

The Lord is drawing families closer together in love and fellowship. He is allowing us to slow down from the busy American lifestyle in order to spend time with Him, family, and neighbors. And He is waking us up to the urgency to prepare for the days ahead.

4. This year the church must get ready for the coming decade.

In the pressures of this hour, many Christians are realizing that they are not ready for turbulent times. They are awakening to the need to make themselves ready for the coming days.

Many are beginning to prepare physically, recognizing the need to have extra food, water, and other supplies. Others are even beginning to start a garden and make homemade bread. Though physical preparation is important, spiritual preparation is far more critical.

Only Christ within us in fullness can prepare us to stand strong during the pressures of the coming decade.

As the Scriptures plainly state, God takes no pleasure in us if we shrink back in fear. He wants us to live by faith in the coming days.

Living by faith is absolutely essential in this hour and will become even more critical for the times ahead. But our faith will not be sufficient. We must have the faith of Christ within us. Only the faith of God will enable us to stand during the greater pressures to come.

Now is the time to allow Christ within us to progressively take our self-life to the cross and fill our inward man with Himself.

Stay tuned for the next four lessons.
