Jesus frequently used parables and stories to share the deep truths of the kingdom. Sometimes, a picture is the best illustration of spiritual principles. This is beautifully illustrated in the picture that the ancient Jewish wedding system paints of the coming wedding between the Lord Jesus Christ and His bride. This session leads us back in history to experience Jewish wedding customs during the time of Jesus’ earthly ministry. As the sessions explains, there were five basic elements that comprised the traditional Jewish wedding system: 1) The arrangement of marriage; 2) The betrothal ceremony; 3) The preparation period between the betrothal and the wedding; 4) The wedding ceremony; and 5) The wedding feast. This session addresses each of these components of the Jewish wedding system and then applies them to our relationship with Christ.
