As believers, there are many voices that speak to us. Not only does God speak to us, but also our own thoughts, will, and emotions speak to us. We are bombarded by the voice of the world on a regular basis. And demonic spirits frequently whisper lies into our minds. Yet we know from the words of Jesus that His “sheep follow him because they know his voice. A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers” (John 10:4-5). To be effective in hearing God’s voice for guidance and ministry, we must learn to discern the source of the voices that we hear. This session helps us learn to discern God’s voice by describing the character of His voice and explaining how His voice should affect us.
